The Field Guide

Four expeditions, one stretch of wild Texas coast.

Every charter runs from the sand at Crystal Beach, High Island, Surfside, or San Luis Pass — whichever the tides and the fish favor that day. A standard trip is one family, up to six guests. Larger crews get custom pricing and discounted group rates.

The Sunset Adventure

The gentlest way in. We set camp an hour before golden hour — canopy up, chairs out, rods rigged and waiting. Kids cast their first lines while the Gulf turns orange, with a guide at their elbow the whole time. Redfish, drum, maybe a first small shark before the light goes.

Investment $900 per charter · one family, up to 6 guests

The Night Bite Experience

When the sun drops, the big fish move in. We light the beach with professional rigs, send baits past the third sandbar by drone, and wait for the clickers to sing. Dark water, bright lanterns, and the Gulf's night shift on the other end of your line.

Investment $1,300 per charter · one family, up to 6 guests

The Signature Shark Experience

Eight hours dedicated to one thing: putting you on a genuine Gulf shark from the sand. Bigger baits, heavier Penn gear, longer drone drops beyond the bars. You'll fight it, land it, learn it — then watch it swim away, released like every shark we touch.

Investment $1,600 per charter · one family, up to 6 guests

The Legacy Charter

Our flagship expedition. Fire on the beach at dusk, midnight bait runs, the still hours when the stars do the talking, then dawn breaking over the surf. And Henri's standing rule applies: "If the morning bite turns on… we stay."

Investment $2,400 per charter · one family, up to 6 guests

Our Story

Four partners. One family. One stretch of sand.

J&H started the way most good Texas things do: on the tailgate, at dusk, with sandy feet and a big idea. We're four partners and one family — Henri and Erica Boyce, Jeff, and Ashley — and we've built this charter around the things we'd want for our own kids on the beach: safety first, hands-on teaching, and a Gulf that's healthier when we leave than when we arrived.

Henri runs the operation. Erica keeps the calendar honest and answers every reservation herself. Jeff owns fishing operations and safety — the briefings, the first-aid kit, the satellite comms, and every weather call. Ashley tells the story, so the memory outlasts the sunburn.

We fish strict catch-and-release on every shark, we teach conservation with every fight, and we hold ourselves to a simple creed on every trip: leave every beach cleaner than we found it. We're not chasing trophies for the wall. We're building a legacy through adventure — yours and ours.

Why no reviews yet? Because we haven't run our first public season — and we won't pretend otherwise. Season one opens March 2027. What we offer instead is our name on the operation, our family on the beach with yours, and policies in plain English below.

The Signature Keepsake

Every guest leaves with the playbook.

Most charters hand you a fish photo. We hand you the whole education. Before you leave the sand, your guides assemble the Anglers Adventure Guide — a personal record of your trip: the conditions you fished, the techniques you learned, the species you caught and released. Take it home, and the next fish is yours alone.

That's the legacy part. Teach your kids from it. Fish your own surf with it. Better yet — bring it back next season and add a page.

Why we write it down

So next time, you won't need us. Techniques, conditions, species, and the water you fished — it all goes home with you, in your own guide's handwriting.

A charter is one great day. An education is every trip after it.

Field Notes & Fair Questions

Straight answers, the way Jeff would give them.

Is this safe for kids?

Yes — with the same rules we hold our own family to. All ages are welcome with a responsible adult, and children stay supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. You're fishing from the sand, not a boat, and every trip starts with a full safety briefing before a single line goes out.

Jeff runs safety on every charter: first aid and emergency equipment on the beach, satellite communication when cell service drops, and guides handling every shark. Kids do the fun parts. We do the careful parts.

What happens if the weather turns?

We make every weather call — forecast, tides, wind, and surf — and we make them conservatively. If conditions aren't safe to operate, you can reschedule your trip. Simple as that.

Your deposit stays non-refundable if you decline the reschedule, but we'll always work to find you a date that fits. We'd rather move a trip than run a bad one.

What if we don't catch anything?

An honest answer: sharks are wild animals in a wild Gulf, and nobody who guarantees a fish is telling you the truth. What we can promise is that your guides work the entire trip — reading the water, moving baits, adjusting rigs — and that you go home knowing more about surf fishing than when you arrived.

Every guest leaves with their Anglers Adventure Guide either way: the techniques, the conditions, the education. The fish are the reward. The knowledge is the product.

How do deposits and booking work?

A 20% non-refundable deposit reserves your date. The balance is due at the beach, the day of your charter. If weather makes your date unsafe, you may reschedule — the deposit carries over to your new date.

Booking opens January 2027 for the March–October season. The priority list below gets first pick.

What should we bring?

Not much — the manifest above is on us: rods, tackle, bait, chairs, shade, water, lighting, and safety gear. Bring sunscreen, a layer for after dark (Gulf nights cool off), footwear that can get wet, and any snacks your crew runs on. If you're joining a night or dusk-to-dawn trip, a warm hat earns its keep.

How big can our group be?

A standard charter is one family — around five to six guests — which keeps the instruction personal and the beach uncrowded. Bringing a bigger crew? We arrange custom pricing with discounted group rates. Mention your group size when you join the list and Erica will sort the details.
